CELLARED WINES
Welcome to our on-line Fine Wine catalogue.
So, why buy from Truffle? It would be easy to bang on here about all sorts of things like passion, integrity and commitment, but let's just say this -
Given the huge range of wine available in the market today, there is no excuse for stocking 'ordinary' wine, unless you are one of 'the big boys', or in the grocery trade, where price points and volume come before quality. If you are looking for Kiwi or Aussie wines, or bargains, then don't waste your time here. On the other hand, if you are looking for real wines made by families rather than factories, wines that offer individuality and value for money, then we carry a wide range of wines at many different levels.
We import a small but very carefully selected range in the $25-$35 area - wines with a depth of flavour and complexity that will both please and surprise you. The second tier of $35 to $50 wines is where the real surprises start. These wines are often eye-openers for those who like to think they know a bit about wine. The $50-$100 bracket opens the door to some of the wine world's hidden gems like Vajra's Freisa 'Kye' or the Correggia's Langhe Sauvignon, Bussola's Ripasso wines or the stunning Chenins of Clos Naudin. There's no need to spend more than $100 to get a really superb wine, but truly 'jaw-droppingly great' does tend to be $130+.
All our wines are sourced from artisan winemakers, many of whom are unknown in N.Z., but you should feel free to Google them! Every bottle we is shipped door-to-door in temperature controlled trucks and containers, before being stored in our climate-controlled warehouse. Our prices are fair and reasonable and can be favourably compared with elsewhere in the world. Our focus is on wine and the people who make it first and foremost.
Our very carefully chosen range of European wines stretches across 50 agencies and ranges in price from $22 to $1500+. The primary focus is on French, Italian and Spanish wines, all of which are artisan produced, and are often organic or bio-dynamic. We also have a small number of superb Austrian wines from Leo Alzinger, F-X Pichler, and German Rieslings from Markus Molitor and Donnhoff.
