Due to speculators, investors and luxury goods purveyors, the top wines from Bordeaux and Burgundy have become some of the most over-priced wines on the planet. Because of this they represent poor value for money and are often equalled in quality by wines from other regions that are half to one-third the price.
Having said that, if you buy carefully, there are some great wines to be had.
