Wine
Welcome to our on-line fine wine store.
Why buy from Truffle? I could bang on here about all sorts of things like passion, integrity and commitment, but I'd prefer to say this -
I have had a love affair with wine for over 30 years, and have been involved in the wine trade for 25 years, 10 of which have been under my own steam. I have a (tested) ability to spot the difference between a good wine and a great wine, and I limit my purchasing to the best wines available.
Given the huge range of wine available in the market today, there is no excuse for stocking 'ordinary' wine, unless you are in the grocery trade where price bracketing comes before quality. If you are looking for Kiwi or Aussie wines, or bargains, then don't waste your time here. On the other hand, if you are simply looking for real wines that offer value for money, then we carry a small but carefully selected range in the $25-$35 area that will surprise you. Why not try one of our $150 mixed six-pack, freight-free selections?
I want you to enjoy your purchases so much that you'll remember me and return. After a couple of visits and some feedback from you, I'll know your preferences and will be able to make more specific recommendations. Once you become a Truffle client you will probably shop with us for many years. We rarely lose clients through dissatisfaction.
All our wines are sourced from artisan winemakers, many of whom are unknown in N.Z. Every bottle we import is shipped door-to-door in temperature controlled trucks and containers, before being stored in our climate-controlled warehouse. Our prices are always fair and reasonable and can be favourably comparable with anywhere else in the world. My business revolves around wine and the people who make it.
Truffle's very carefully chosen range of European wines stretches across 25 agencies and ranges in price from $22 to $1000+.
Our primary focus is on French and Italian wines, all of which are artisan produced, and often organic or bio-dynamic.
We also have a small but carefully chosen range of Spanish and German wines from other importers.

The majority of the older wines listed on this site are only available in very small quantities, with single bottles mentioned specifically. These wines reside in our climate controlled storage facility - The Wine Safe. www.winesafe.co.nz
If you are mainly interested in our older wines, please enter the word 'winesafe' into our search engine to see the cellar stock I'll do my best to update the site as time permits.
DISCLAIMER - We stand behind any wines sold at normal retail. However, when it comes to cellared wines that are over 10 years old, which are more fragile and perishable, once they out of our hands, anything can happen. We offer a limited, 2 month guarantee on all our aged cellared wines. This guarantee only applies to actual faults - TCA, bacterial spoilage etc. The faulty wine must be returned to us within 48 hours of your 1st notification. No refunds will be given otherwise, so please choose carefully.
If you are looking for a particular wine from a specific vintage, drop me a line at truffle@xtra.co.nz and let me know what you're after. We have access to a huge range and may know someone with a bottle in their cellar who would sell it for the right price.
